A MESSAGE FROM Megan’s Mob
January 7, 2018 my life officially changed. That is the day I got sick for no reason and after multiple rounds of testing and biopsies, I was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. I underwent the Whipple surgery on May 10, 2018 where it was confirmed that I had stage 1 adenocarcinoma. I began chemotherapy on June 27, 2018 and completed my 12th treatment on April 2, 2019. I am here because of Dr Amer Zureikat and Dr Christopher Marsh and the staff at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center.
I am creating this team to raise awareness and funding to support all cancer research. This deadly disease has stolen our best and our brightest, but it can’t take away our determination.
In February I lost a good friend, Brian Shanahan, to pancreatic cancer. He supported me during my treatments and we were each other’s biggest cheerleaders. Please help me support his memory and raise money for cancer research that will stay in Pgh.
Rush to Crush Cancer raises funds for vital cancer research at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center. Whether you donate $10 or $1,000, 100% of your donation will go to this cause, helping to change the lives of countless families impacted by cancer. Thank you for your support!
